A splendid dahlia garden set in an iconic Northern California landscape of weathered barns and summer faded hills. I invite the viewer to immerse in the music of color shapes and spots, to feel the heat through warm to cool color shifts, and the joy and impossibility of taking in and embracing the whole experience on a gestural scale. A response to Arthur Grover Rider’s “Flowers, Capistrano Mission”; painted for the invitational exhibit "California Impressionists: The Masters & The Greats They Inspire".
