About "The Lesson"

A tender moment between father (a fourth generation farmer) and son captures the importance of passing on wisdom to children. Here the value of learning basic skills on how to maintain an older model John Deere tractor will aid in the preservation of an agricultural heritage. I fondly recall my own memories growing up on a farm, helping my dad with tasks and learning about the tools and inner workings of our farm equipment. This was of course the birthplace of my inspiration. Beside our 120 year old farm house was the equally curious tool shed with its rich textures, the smells of old motor oil and rusty hardware! This was my version of a candy shop :)

“The Lesson” illustrates the most important of all life’s treasures; connecting through shared experiences and knowledge. In this way, we can foster and nurture a mindset, which serves our families, community and planet for generations to come.
