On a plein air painting trip to Italy I discovered a charming, colorful alley in a village in Tuscany, Radda in Chianti. I took several photos then set up my supplies on a nearby park bench and completed a sketch with pencil and watercolor. I had planned to do a larger painting later but this original small sketch had a sense of passion and movement that held more interest. So I framed this one.
