Assurance

This painting was inspired by a stunning sunset I witnessed along the coast of Malibu. I love living near the coast. I grew up in upstate South Carolina and was always a four hour drive away from the ocean, which made it a little too far to visit frequently. It is really special to me to live within a short distance to the water. This painting expresses the sense of freedom I feel when I'm at the ocean. The ocean feels eternal and comforting as it stretches endlessly over the horizon. This painting is honestly sentimental to me in a way because it captures the childlike wonder I had when I visited the beaches in SC growing up, and adds a lovely California twist to it.
