Crystal Blue Persuasion started with a plein air painting of this crop of roses at the top of a dune near my familiar painting location on Martha's Vineyard. It had the right combination of compelling textures and contrasting colors - the bright pinks of the flowers and the sparkling blue of Edgartown Harbor - to fuel my passion for creating this much larger studio version.
