San Clemente Sunlight

Created from 3 plein air sessions and some studio work, "San Clemente Sunlight" is the result of many running workouts through this site, drawings, and studying-while-walking experiences. This is my hometown: I intended to create a work that captures the very essence of this place, also called the "Spanish Village-by-the-Sea." It's the warmth, the seaside breeze, the feeling of freedom in walking these trails, the blessing of living in this coastal environment, so close to nature. The palette is warm, shapes big, brushstrokes loose so that the way I created the piece suits the style and quality of life here.
