Roman and Bluey, Friends

My son asked me to paint him with his friend, Bluey a tiny stuffed rabbit. He sat for it from life in a chaotic corner of my studio. It required lots of 'hug breaks.' I can be a very technical painter, studying optics and setting up experiments. I will create boundaries and force myself to try certain things. Always a student! Keep pushing! But sometimes a painting is just an expression of the heart. All the years of training and acres of battered canvases transform into intuition and love.
